You can easily do this if you've already inserted a table in OneNote and want to make use of Excel's editing features by converting it to an Excel spreadsheet.
To convert a table, click on it.
On the Layout tab, click.
On the Layout tab, click.
To convert to an Excel spreadsheet, click.
The spreadsheet that was created from the table is embedded on the page.
In the spreadsheet's upper-left corner, click Edit.
You now have a much wider range of options for working with the table than you did in OneNote as the table opens in Excel.
